I was immediately drawn to this image, reference photo kindly supplied by Sue Harvey.
Their colours are just stunning, the colour of rainbows. Often found in pairs, they are such a beautiful little bird and are especially beautiful in the late afternoon when low rosy sunlight makes them glow with internal fire. They are also very quick with their movement including rapid twists and turns when in pursuit of their next favourite meal, a bee or wasp. They are often seen on the coast at Coolum Beach.
Look carefully, can you spot the little lady bird? Do you think it knows it’s safe with these two cheeky birds.
